Denton Man Arrested for Multiple Women’s Locker Room Incidents: Police Investigate

Must read

A Denton man faces multiple charges after allegedly entering women’s locker rooms and restrooms at several locations, including a local gym and university facilities, according to police.

Jeremiah Devereaux, 27, was arrested Saturday, January 31, after entering the women’s locker room, sauna, and bathroom at a gym located in the 1300 block of South Loop 288 in Denton, police confirmed.

The arrest comes just one day after Devereaux was allegedly involved in an indecent exposure incident at the University of North Texas campus. Authorities say he exposed himself to a woman in a campus restroom on Friday, as documented in police reports.

Pattern of Behavior

Investigators have connected Devereaux to at least three separate cases involving women’s restrooms and locker rooms across Denton. Police believe there may be additional incidents that have gone unreported.

This isn’t the first time Devereaux has been in trouble for similar behavior. Prior arrests include an incident at Texas Woman’s University in January 2025, where he allegedly attempted to follow a woman into a bathroom stall, according to court records.

What’s particularly concerning to investigators? The apparent escalation and frequency of the incidents across multiple locations frequented by women.

Denton Police Department spokesperson Allison Beckwith urged anyone who may have encountered similar situations to come forward. “We believe there may be additional victims who haven’t reported their experiences,” she said.

Legal Proceedings

Devereaux is currently being held in Denton County Jail on a $5,000 bond. He faces charges of criminal trespass and indecent exposure – both misdemeanors that could result in jail time and fines if convicted.

The case has raised concerns about security measures at public facilities. Several local gyms and campus recreation centers have announced reviews of their safety protocols in response to the incidents.

As the investigation continues, authorities maintain that public awareness is critical. “These types of cases often rely on community vigilance and reporting,” said Denton Police Chief Daniel O’Reilly. “We’re asking everyone to remain alert and immediately report suspicious behavior in sensitive areas.”
