Tennessee Titans Cornerback L’Jarius Sneed Indicted in Connection with Texas Shooting

NFL cornerback L’Jarius Sneed is facing legal trouble off the field after a Dallas County grand jury indicted him on a misdemeanor charge for his alleged role in a shooting incident last December.

The Tennessee Titans defender has been charged with failing to report a felony aggravated assault, according to court documents obtained by multiple news outlets. The charge stems from an incident at a Dallas car dealership on December 6, 2024, where shots were allegedly fired at a Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon while Sneed was present.

What exactly happened that night? Surveillance footage from the dealership and a nearby gas station identified Sneed as the driver of a Lamborghini Urus SUV involved in the incident, with detectives confirming he was the only person seen entering and exiting the driver’s seat before the shooting occurred.

Civil Lawsuit Seeks Damages

The alleged victims in the case, Christian Nshimiyimana and Avi Ahmed, have filed a civil lawsuit seeking at least $1 million in damages. Their legal action claims they were targeted while parked at the dealership when shots were fired at their vehicle, though neither man was reportedly injured in the incident.

Sneed wasn’t the only person implicated in the shooting. Tekonzae Williams, identified as the second man in the Lamborghini with Sneed, faces more serious legal consequences. Williams has been indicted on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in connection with the same incident.

The indictment represents a significant development for Sneed, who joined the Titans this season after winning a Super Bowl with the Kansas City Chiefs. The cornerback signed a four-year, $76.4 million contract with Tennessee earlier this year, making him one of the highest-paid defensive backs in the league.

Neither the Titans organization nor Sneed’s representatives have issued detailed statements about the indictment. The NFL typically waits for legal proceedings to progress before determining any potential disciplinary action under its personal conduct policy.

For now, the 27-year-old cornerback continues to play while his legal situation unfolds. But the charges raise questions about his future availability as both the criminal case and civil lawsuit move forward in Texas courts.
