Three teenagers have disappeared in separate incidents across Bexar County, Texas, triggering an intensive search effort by local authorities who fear the young women may be in danger.
The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office is searching for 19-year-old Camila Mendoza Olmos, 17-year-old Angelique Johnson, and 14-year-old Sofia Gabriela Peters-Cobos, all of whom went missing in unrelated cases over the past week, leaving families desperate for answers during what should have been a festive holiday period.
Christmas Eve Disappearance Raises Alarms
Camila Mendoza Olmos was last seen leaving her residence in the 11000 block of Caspian Spring at 6:58 a.m. on Christmas Eve. Dashcam footage captured Olmos walking northbound on Wildhorse Parkway between Shetland Wind and Caspian Spring around 7 a.m. The 19-year-old stands 5’4″, weighs approximately 110 pounds, and was last seen wearing a baby blue and black hoodie, matching baby blue pajama bottoms, and white shoes.
“We’re asking anybody with any information to please give us a call,” a BCSO spokesperson said during a Monday news conference. “Even if you don’t live in this immediate neighborhood… look through your surveillance camera videos from later that day and let us be the judge of whether it’s something usable or not.”
What’s particularly concerning to investigators is the timing and circumstances of Olmos’s disappearance. Leaving home in pajamas early on Christmas Eve morning has raised red flags for authorities, who’ve since mobilized significant resources.
Two Additional Teens Missing
Angelique Johnson, 17, was reported missing from the 130 block of Exeter Place near Potranco Road. Johnson is 5’10”, weighs 198 pounds, and has brown hair and brown eyes. Authorities believe she may still have her cell phone, which could potentially aid in locating her.
The third missing teen, Sofia Gabriela Peters-Cobos, is just 14 years old. She was last seen leaving her home near Landon Ridge and Potranco Road at approximately 7:00 p.m. on December 29. Peters-Cobos stands 5’4″, weighs 132 pounds, has brown hair and green eyes, and was last wearing a black flannel shirt and black shorts, according to reports.
Massive Search Effort Underway
The Sheriff’s Office has deployed substantial resources in their search for the missing teens. These include a mobile command post, drones, K-9 units, and mounted patrols scouring areas where the girls were last seen.
Behind the scenes, digital forensic work is also happening at a rapid pace. The FBI is assisting with analyzing digital evidence, while authorities are monitoring flights and border crossings as a precautionary measure given the proximity to international boundaries.
Could these cases be related? While officials have stated the disappearances are separate and unconnected incidents, the timing has nonetheless left the community on edge as search efforts continue.
Authorities are urging residents throughout Bexar County to check any surveillance footage they might have and to contact the Sheriff’s Office with information, no matter how insignificant it might seem. The public can reach BCSO at 210-335-6000 or by emailing [email protected].
As the search enters a critical phase, families of the missing teens face an agonizing wait while investigators race against time to bring the young women home safely.
