Arlington Man Charged With Kidnapping, Shooting in Domestic Violence Case

Must read

A manhunt that began with gunfire at an Arlington apartment complex ended with the arrest of a 25-year-old man accused of kidnapping his ex-girlfriend after shooting her new boyfriend, according to authorities.

Aaron Webb faces multiple serious charges after the violent incident that unfolded late Tuesday night in the 700 block of Forest Hills Drive. Arlington police responded to emergency calls about a man with a gun around 11:10 p.m., where they discovered a 29-year-old male victim with gunshot wounds.

Violent Confrontation Leads to Kidnapping

The victim, whose name hasn’t been released, was responsive at the scene and is expected to survive his injuries. But the situation quickly escalated into a broader emergency when investigators learned that Webb had allegedly kidnapped his ex-girlfriend following the shooting.

Using Flock camera technology, officers were able to track Webb’s vehicle to Fort Worth, where he was arrested. The woman was found alive but suffering from facial injuries, apparently from being struck during the ordeal.

What drove Webb to such extreme violence? Authorities haven’t released details about the motive, though the stalking charge suggests a pattern of concerning behavior that preceded Tuesday’s events.

Multiple Serious Charges

Webb now faces a litany of charges including Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon Causing Serious Bodily Injury, Aggravated Kidnapping, Stalking, and Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle. Police also recovered a firearm during the arrest.

The incident highlights the dangerous reality of domestic violence situations that escalate after relationships end. Experts often note that the period after a breakup can be particularly volatile, especially when one party refuses to accept the separation.

Curiously, Webb’s name doesn’t appear on the Arlington Police Department’s jail inmate listings for December 30-31, 2025, suggesting he may have been transferred to another facility or that records haven’t been updated.

This case comes amid growing concerns about domestic violence in the region. Local advocacy groups have repeatedly called for increased resources for victims and stronger intervention programs for potential offenders.

Authorities haven’t indicated whether Webb had any prior arrests or if the victim had previously sought protective orders. The investigation remains ongoing as detectives continue to gather evidence about both the shooting and the kidnapping.
