Chaos at AT&T Stadium: 10 Arrested During Texas High School Football Championships

Must read

What started as a celebration of Texas high school football excellence quickly devolved into chaos at AT&T Stadium this weekend. Ten people were arrested during the UIL Texas High School Football State Championship games on Saturday following multiple disturbances that rippled through the stadium concourses.

Arlington police took the individuals into custody on December 22, 2025, after several large groups caused disruptions that eventually required sections of the stadium to be cleared and multiple fans to be ejected from the premises.

Multiple Charges Filed

The arrests weren’t for minor infractions. Charges ranged from fighting in public and criminal trespass to more serious offenses including assault on a public servant and resisting arrest. Some individuals were also taken into custody due to active felony and misdemeanor warrants discovered during the incidents.

What should have been a showcase of athletic achievement instead became a reminder of how quickly crowd dynamics can shift in high-stakes environments. The disruptions required police intervention to prevent further escalation, with officers working to maintain order while the championship games continued on the field.

Championship Games Proceed Despite Disruptions

Despite the chaos in the concourses, the day’s scheduled championship matchups went forward. Three title games were on display: Dallas South Oak Cliff claimed victory over Richmond Randle with a decisive 35-19 win in the 5A Division 2 championship, while Galena Park North Shore edged out Duncanville in a defensive 10-7 battle for the 6A Division 1 title.

The DeSoto Eagles delivered the most dominant performance of the day, overwhelming the Sheldon King Panthers 55-27 to secure the 6A Division 2 championship.

Ironically, the field itself saw less conflict than some areas of the stands, as the athletes demonstrated the discipline and sportsmanship that high school athletics aims to instill.

Stadium security protocols will likely face scrutiny following these incidents, particularly given that these events primarily involve high school students and their families. AT&T Stadium, which regularly hosts NFL games and other major events, typically employs substantial security measures that will now be reviewed in light of Saturday’s disruptions.

For the thousands of fans who attended to support their schools and communities, the championship memories will unfortunately be tarnished by the actions of a few – a bitter footnote to what should have been a celebration of Texas high school football tradition.
