Denton Man Arrested for Trespassing in Women’s Locker Room, Faces Indecent Exposure Charges
A 27-year-old Denton man is behind bars after allegedly entering women’s restrooms and locker rooms at multiple locations across the city, including a university campus where he reportedly exposed himself to a woman.
Jeremiah Devereaux was arrested on January 31, 2026, following reports that he had entered the women’s locker room, sauna, and bathroom at a gym located in the 1300 block of South Loop 288. The arrest came just one day after an indecent exposure incident at the University of North Texas, where Devereaux allegedly exposed himself to a female in a campus restroom.
Pattern of Concerning Behavior
Denton police have linked Devereaux to at least three separate incidents involving women’s facilities. The pattern of intrusions has raised concerns among local residents and university students alike.
“We take these types of incidents very seriously,” a Denton police spokesperson said. “The safety of our community members, particularly in private spaces where they expect privacy, is paramount.”
Witnesses at the gym reported seeing Devereaux enter the women’s locker room, sauna, and bathroom areas, prompting staff to contact authorities. It’s unclear how long he remained in these areas before being confronted.
How did Devereaux gain access to these restricted spaces? That’s a question investigators are still working to answer as they piece together the timeline of events across multiple locations.
Legal Proceedings Underway
Following his arrest, Devereaux was booked into the Denton County Jail on charges of criminal trespass and indecent exposure. Court records show he’s being held on a $5,000 bond.
The university incident has drawn particular attention from campus safety advocates. UNT officials haven’t yet commented on whether they’ll implement additional security measures at campus facilities in response to the incident.
Local gym-goers have expressed unease following news of the arrest. “You expect certain places to be safe and private,” said one member who asked not to be identified. “This is definitely going to make me more aware of my surroundings.”
Devereaux’s court date has not yet been set. If convicted, he could face jail time and fines for both the criminal trespass and indecent exposure charges.
As this case unfolds, Denton residents are left wondering whether these incidents represent isolated events or if there might be additional unreported cases—a sobering reminder of the vulnerability some feel even in spaces designated as safe.
