Fort Worth Home Invasion: Pregnant Woman, Mother Shot by Ex-Boyfriend

Must read

A Fort Worth pregnant woman and her mother are recovering after a terrifying ambush in their home that unfolded before the eyes of three young children. The alleged shooter? The woman’s ex-boyfriend, who police say hid inside waiting for their return.

Sylvia Scott, 32, and her mother Allura Stewart survived the November 19 attack after Christopher Mike, also 32, allegedly broke into their home in the 1000 block of Beechgrove Terrace and opened fire when they entered through the garage door. Scott’s unborn baby was unharmed despite the violent assault.

“I was shot in the neck, and it went through my face,” Scott told local media from her hospital bed, her voice steady despite describing the horrific injury.

Ambush in the family home

What makes the attack particularly chilling is how it was executed. Mike allegedly entered the residence through a back door and waited inside until Scott returned home with her mother and three children — ages 8, 4, and 3.

Stewart recounted the terrifying moment: “He just appeared out of nowhere and shot her and looked at me and shot me,” she explained. “Then he ran deeper into the house, and I thought he was going to hurt the kids.”

The children witnessed the violent attack but were not physically harmed, though the psychological impact of seeing their mother and grandmother shot remains a grave concern.

Fort Worth police have confirmed that Mike faces multiple serious charges, including aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, burglary, and kidnapping in connection with the shooting.

Legal proceedings unclear

The current status of Mike’s case remains somewhat murky. A review of Tarrant County jail records from December 19, 2025, shows multiple bookings for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, but doesn’t explicitly list Mike among those detained.

Similarly, he doesn’t appear on the Tarrant County Criminal District Attorney’s docket for trials during the week of December 15, 2025.

Attempts to verify his status through the Fort Worth Police Department’s recent arrests page were unsuccessful due to technical errors on the site.

Domestic violence experts note that pregnancy often represents a particularly dangerous period for women in abusive relationships, when controlling behaviors can escalate to violence.

For Scott and her mother, the road to recovery continues — both physically and emotionally — as they heal from wounds that extend far beyond the bullets that struck them, with three young children who witnessed violence no child should ever see.
