A mother is dead and her adult son is in custody following a fatal stabbing Friday night in north Fort Worth, according to police who responded to the scene.
Fort Worth Police officers arrived at the 4800 block of Cargill Circle shortly before 9 p.m. after receiving what they described as a “cutting call.” There, they discovered a woman with multiple stab wounds who was pronounced dead at the scene.
The woman’s adult son, who authorities identified as the suspect, was located nearby suffering from what appeared to be a self-inflicted wound. He was quickly taken into custody and transported to a local hospital where he was listed in stable condition.
Domestic Violence Suspected
Investigators believe the stabbing stemmed from a domestic altercation between mother and son, though they haven’t yet released details about what might have triggered the violent confrontation. The identities of both the victim and suspect remain withheld pending notification of other family members.
