Identical Twin Boys Born as North Texas’ First Babies of 2026

Must read

Identical twin boys have claimed the title of North Texas’ first babies of 2026, arriving just over an hour after the ball dropped on New Year’s Eve.

William and Elliott Evans made their grand entrance at 1:16 a.m. and 1:18 a.m. respectively on January 1 at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in Grapevine, giving parents Elizabeth and Ed Evans an unforgettable start to the new year. “We welcomed our twins, identical twins, William and Elliott,” Elizabeth told reporters from her hospital room.

The twins weren’t supposed to arrive for another two months. “Our original due date was March 4th,” Elizabeth explained. “They are a little bit early, but they’re doing fantastic. We are very happy about their progress. They’re little warriors.”

Ed Evans confirmed the twins’ status as North Texas’ first 2026 arrivals after some quick detective work. “After Elizabeth came to the recovery room, told us the news. I think confirmed with a few other hospitals, that we’re the first, yeah yeah yeah,” he said.

New Year, New Beginnings

The birth of William and Elliott just minutes into the new year has been recognized as the first babies in Grapevine for 2026. Their arrival two minutes apart — at 1:16 a.m. and 1:18 a.m. — was documented by hospital staff eager to celebrate the year’s first delivery.

What better way to kick off a new year than with new life? Across North Texas, residents are embracing fresh starts and setting goals for 2026. Many are focusing on personal health and happiness, with one resident sharing their resolution: “To stay healthy and be able to run five days a week and be happy,” they remarked.

For the Evans family, 2026 has already delivered its biggest gift — twice. Though the twins arrived earlier than expected, their status as North Texas’ first babies of the year gives these “little warriors” an extra special birth story to share for years to come.
