Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is set to address young conservatives at Texas State University next fall, marking a high-profile appearance at a campus that has seen increasing political activism in recent years.
The Republican AG will speak at an event organized by the university’s Turning Point USA chapter on November 12, 2025, at the LBJ Student Center in San Marcos, according to an announcement from his office. The evening program, scheduled to begin at 6:00 p.m. with doors opening at 6:30 p.m., will be held in Room 322 of the student center.
In promoting the appearance, Paxton emphasized the role of young conservatives in the state’s political landscape. “Much of the conservative movement in Texas is powered by young patriots who refuse to be intimidated by the radical left,” he stated. “I’m honored to stand with the Texas State University Turning Point chapter as they remind their peers that courage and conviction will shape the future of our state and our nation.”
Open to Campus Community and Beyond
While Texas State students will receive preferred seating, the event won’t be limited to current enrollees. Alumni and community members are also welcome to attend, potentially drawing a diverse crowd from the surrounding San Marcos area and beyond, event organizers confirmed.
Why Texas State? The university has increasingly become a battleground for competing political ideologies, with conservative student groups like Turning Point USA seeking to establish stronger footholds on a campus that, like many public universities, has traditionally seen strong progressive student activism.
Paxton’s appearance comes during a period when the attorney general has maintained a highly visible public profile through numerous legal challenges to federal policies. His office has filed dozens of lawsuits against the Biden administration on issues ranging from immigration to environmental regulations.
Members of the media interested in covering the event must submit an RSVP through a designated email address, according to the press materials released with the announcement.
The scheduled appearance is still more than a year away, giving both supporters and potential protesters ample time to prepare. Campus speaking engagements by high-profile conservatives have sometimes drawn demonstrations at other universities across the country.
For the Texas State Turning Point chapter, landing a sitting attorney general represents a significant achievement in their efforts to increase conservative visibility on campus — and one that will likely generate considerable conversation long before Paxton takes the podium in San Marcos.
