A 23-year-old Crips gang member from Lubbock has been added to Texas’ most wanted list after allegedly killing a teenager while already on parole for another violent crime, authorities announced Thursday.
Kendrick Kevon Taylor, who goes by the street name “Skrilla,” is now the subject of a statewide manhunt with a reward of up to $7,500 for information leading to his capture. He’s wanted for the August 23 murder of an 18-year-old male in Lubbock, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety, which confirmed Taylor was free on parole from a previous aggravated robbery conviction when the shooting occurred.
Just three days after the killing, a parole violation warrant was issued for Taylor’s arrest. He’s remained on the run since.
Armed and Dangerous
Authorities warn that Taylor should be considered “armed and dangerous,” urging the public not to attempt apprehending him themselves. “Kendrick Kevon Taylor – a known Crips gang member who was out on parole – [was] added to the Texas 10 Most Wanted Fugitives List after the fatal shooting of an 18-year-old male in Lubbock last month,” the DPS bulletin states.
Taylor stands 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs approximately 155 pounds. He has distinctive tattoos on his face, neck and chest, with noticeable scars on his abdomen and right leg that could help identify him, investigators noted.
Anonymous Tips Encouraged
Think you’ve seen him? Texas Crime Stoppers is guaranteeing anonymity for anyone providing information.
“Texas Crime Stoppers is now offering a cash reward of up to $7,500 for information leading to his arrest. All tips are guaranteed to be anonymous,” officials stated. The program provides tipsters with a number instead of using their name to maintain complete confidentiality.
To be eligible for the cash reward, tipsters must use one of three official channels: calling the Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-252-TIPS (8477), submitting information through the Texas 10 Most Wanted website, or providing tips via the program’s Facebook page.
Taylor’s case adds to what has already been a busy year for Texas law enforcement pursuing high-profile fugitives. So far in 2025, authorities have arrested 49 individuals from the Texas 10 Most Wanted lists, including 18 sex offenders and 12 criminal illegal immigrants. The Crime Stoppers program has paid out $37,000 in rewards for tips that directly led to these arrests, according to DPS records.
But Taylor remains at large, and authorities are hoping the added publicity from his placement on the 10 Most Wanted list — and the substantial cash reward — might finally bring the alleged killer to justice.
