Former North Texas charter school teacher Eric Moore has been arrested on multiple felony charges related to the alleged sexual abuse of children at North Texas Collegiate Academy’s East Campus, authorities confirmed Friday.
Moore, 30, faces serious accusations including a second-degree felony charge of indecency with a child by sexual contact and a first-degree felony charge of continuous sexual abuse of a child, according to documents obtained by investigators.
The investigation began suddenly on January 7, 2026, when a student came forward with allegations of abuse at the Little Elm charter school. School officials acted quickly, placing Moore on administrative leave that same day. He later resigned from his position.
Details Still Emerging
What exactly happened behind closed doors at the East Campus? Authorities have been tight-lipped about specific details as the investigation continues to unfold. The Little Elm Police Department hasn’t disclosed how many children may have been victimized, their ages, or precisely how Moore was connected to them.
“Police said they found evidence of sexual abuse of a child based on a report that was made on Jan. 7,” according to a statement released by law enforcement officials.
The case has sent ripples of concern through the North Texas educational community, particularly among parents with children enrolled at the charter academy. Moore’s swift removal from the classroom appears to have been the school’s immediate priority once allegations surfaced.
Little Elm police officials emphasized they’re working to ensure affected children and their families receive appropriate resources as the investigation continues. “The department is working to connect these families with the support they need during this difficult time,” a spokesperson noted in their statement.
Investigation Ongoing
Authorities stress this remains an active investigation. Anyone with information about the case is urged to contact the Little Elm Police Department at [email protected] or call 214-975-0460.
The charges against Moore represent some of the most serious offenses in the Texas penal code. Continuous sexual abuse of a child, a first-degree felony, carries potential penalties of up to life imprisonment if convicted.
As the legal process moves forward, the school community faces the difficult task of healing while cooperating with investigators to ensure all facts come to light. For now, the focus remains on supporting those potentially affected by these disturbing allegations.
