The Quesarito, Taco Bell’s beloved beef-and-cheese hybrid creation, is making a triumphant return to menus nationwide just in time for the holidays — a move that has fast food enthusiasts declaring a “Christmas miracle.”
Starting December 18, 2025, the cult-favorite item will be available for a limited time after being discontinued in April 2023. The decision comes after persistent demand from fans who refused to let the cheesy creation fade into fast-food history.
“We heard our fans loud and clear,” said Taco Bell’s chief marketing officer Luis Restrepo in a statement. “Their passion turned the Quesarito into a Taco Bell legend, and bringing it back for the holidays felt like the perfect way to celebrate that energy.”
What exactly is this legendary creation?
For the uninitiated, the Quesarito is essentially a burrito-quesadilla hybrid featuring seasoned beef, rice, and chipotle sauce, all wrapped inside a grilled quesadilla loaded with melted cheeses and Nacho Cheese sauce. The indulgent menu item will be priced at $4.99, though prices may vary by location.
Taco Bell is sweetening the return with a special promotion. The first 30,000 Taco Bell Rewards members can score a $1 Quesarito through an app-exclusive drop on December 23 at 2 p.m. PT — a holiday gift that’s generated considerable excitement on social media. “It’s a Christmas miracle!” one enthusiastic fan commented on the chain’s Instagram announcement.
The NBA connection nobody expected
In an unusual twist to the Quesarito saga, its 2014 launch advertisement apparently overshadowed NBA star Nikola Jokić’s draft announcement. Now, in a playful attempt at reconciliation, Taco Bell is extending an invitation to the basketball superstar to try the returning menu item.
Jokić’s response? “No. It’s nice they’re finally apologizing. But no,” he replied — suggesting that some wounds, even those inflicted by fast food marketing, take more than a cheesy offering to heal.
The Quesarito’s return marks a significant shift for Taco Bell, which had relegated the item to app-exclusive status before removing it entirely from menus last year. Its reappearance suggests the chain is increasingly willing to revisit fan favorites rather than focusing exclusively on new innovations.
For devoted Taco Bell enthusiasts, the holidays just got a little cheesier — and they wouldn’t have it any other way.
