Two-Alarm Fire Damages Four Businesses at Dallas’ Inwood Village

Must read

A two-alarm fire tore through the attic of Inwood Village shopping center early Saturday morning, damaging at least four businesses at the upscale Dallas retail hub.

Dallas Fire-Rescue crews responded to the 5405 West Lovers Lane location at 5:55 a.m., where they discovered smoke billowing from the roof of the two-story commercial complex. The fire, which had primarily taken hold in the attic space, prompted commanders to call for additional resources as flames began to spread.

What began as a routine call quickly escalated. A second alarm was dispatched, ultimately bringing between 45 and 50 firefighters to the scene, where they battled the stubborn blaze for more than four hours before declaring it extinguished at 10:07 a.m.

Extended Operation

The morning shopping center fire proved particularly challenging for crews, who spent hours methodically tracking down and extinguishing hot spots throughout the affected area. Most of the damage appears concentrated in the attic spaces above the businesses, according to information provided by Dallas Fire-Rescue.

Despite the extensive response, officials have not yet confirmed which specific retailers were impacted by the fire. Inwood Village houses numerous popular businesses, ranging from restaurants and specialty shops to service providers, making it a significant commercial hub in the area.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Fire investigators were on scene Saturday morning, but no preliminary findings have been released.

This isn’t the first time the shopping center has faced adversity. Like many retail locations, Inwood Village has weathered economic challenges in recent years, making Saturday’s fire an unwelcome setback for business owners and the surrounding community.

Recovery efforts will likely begin once fire officials complete their investigation and determine the structural integrity of the affected portions of the building.
