A late-night shooting in DeSoto, Texas left multiple people wounded early Wednesday, sending first responders scrambling and leaving police with no suspects in custody — and a lot of unanswered questions.
Officers with the DeSoto Police Department responded to the shooting in the 900 block of N Hampton Road at approximately 12:30 a.m. Wednesday, according to authorities. The scene unfolded in what appears to be a business parking lot, and it wasn’t long before the area was swarming with emergency personnel. Multiple victims were found at the scene, treated on-site, and rushed to area hospitals. Their conditions have not been publicly disclosed.

What police have confirmed is that first responders found several victims, rendered aid, and transported them to area hospitals — a process that, in the chaotic minutes after a mass shooting, is never as clean or simple as it sounds in a press release.
